“God is Dead”

February 2, 2010

What do you believe about God? Does He really exist?  Can He be known in a personal way? Why do those that say they follow Him seem to be as lost as everyone else?  Does any of it really matter?

Although the Bible teaches about a real, powerful, and relevant God most of the world, whether they say they believe in Him or not, live as though He were dead.  Whether a person attends church every Sunday or believes that God is a myth and religion is for the simple minded, if God is not a daily part of life then, practically speaking, He is not alive.

On February 21st, we will be starting a new series of messages that will examine how a God that we cannot see and cannot touch can impact our lives in a real, powerful, and relevant way. Whether you believe in God, don’t believe in God, or just don’t care this series is designed for you. If you have ever come to the conclusion that God must be dead because you cannot see Him working in your life, come and learn from the Bible just how alive He is and the wonderful plan He has for your life!

Sounds like a great study. Some good resources to help you on this subject have been helpful to me:

The Reason for God – Timothy Keller
    Always Ready – Greg Bahnsen
Reasons We Believe – Nathan Busenitz
The Doctrine of God – John Frame

and the best of the best: The Existence and Attributes of God by Steven Charnock.
